![]() ![]() ![]() It probably all boils down to me not having enough knowledge on the subject but that does make it hard to pick when to upgrade. Then I’ll play a really basic turn based strategy game and CPU and GPU are up around 70% for a game that on the face has very little moving parts in comparison to something complex by DCS. I understand that’s a CPU intensive game but at my graphical settings I’d expect more GPU usage on my old RTX 2060 (suppose that’s a CPU bottleneck maybe?) In contrast flight sim has massive CPU usage but almost no GPU usage. I play other simulators or games I’d consider to be a bit intensive and get hardly any CPU or GPU usage, for example one of DCS’ competitors (who I won’t name for forum rules) I have barely any CPU and GPU usage (circa 30%, if that). If you want the max out of your PC the GPU should be the one maxed out, that's how Games are designed for the past 20 years and you will get the most stable frames and FPS consistancy Your PC is designed to be running at 100%, and it's normal behavior, in the best case scenario what you want is 100% and 100% GPU, but as PC goes every PC is different and it will never happen, so you will be bottlenecked by one part of your PC, it could be CPU, or a GPU, or even RAM or VRAM. It's definitely DCS taking up the processing power rather than something else going on in the background.Īs I say, my usual solution is to throw money at it, but I'm not in a position to do that anymore.probably better I just understand what's going on. Why would anybody choose not to use Vsync? How come my system is maxed out when I don't use Vsync and when other i7 9700k users aren't getting such high usage. Surely it's bad for my hardware to be running so high? With Vsync on it's a smooth 60fps. Suddenly, my CPU and GPU usage is cut almost in half (except for the odd spike in CPU to 100%, presumably when units load in). I've been playing like this for ages and it's only once MT came out that my lack of understanding has started to frustrate me. Additionally I'm only using a monitor and my graphics are a mixture of low and high (I don't expect to run ultra) so I would've thought my system wouldn't struggle. I thought about upgrading my system but DCS is the only game I play that pushes it and it seems pretty extravagant to go paying the massive money parts cost at the moment for one game. I7 9700k, RTX 2060 super, 32GB DDR4 RAM, DCS on its own 1TB Nvme These temp monitors are free from malware and display accurate temp readings.DCS runs at 100% CPU and 100% GPU for me throughout most single player missions. The programs mentioned here are Free to download. ![]() In this article, we have listed the all-time best CPU temp monitors. What is the Best CPU Temperature Monitor Software For Windows 10 PC?
